We had a great first week in 2020 for the Colombia Calling podcast, Episode 306 with Gabriel Torres, a tour guide, hiker and amateur historian regaled us with tales from his life from Tunja to Atlanta to Barichara and how he is planning to map a significant portion of Colombia’s “Camino Reales,” or Royal Roads.
In 306, Torres dispels some of the myths surround the Royal Roads and shares with us his dream to create a hiking trail, steeped in history, which would be Colombia’s version of the route to Santiago de Compostela.
Be sure to check out Torres’ images on Instagram @turismonaturalsantander
In other news, a short piece I wrote for Steppes Travel in the UK about Mompos was published, hopefully driving a little more tourism our way and offering people a glimpse into the style of my – still in progress – book, The Mompos Project.
Thank you again to those who have already pledged, please spread the word and permit us to grow and improve.
Abrazos from Bogotá and Mompós
